The
Association for Employment Management and Local Economic Development,
commonly known as “MODEL,” is a Romanian non-governmental organization
established in 2002 as a "successor organization" to the Technical Assistance of
the highly acclaimed Labor Redeployment Program in Romania. MODEL
consultants and trainers have gained a unique perspective as both beneficiaries
and implementers of a number of bi- and multi-lateral donor projects aimed at
addressing the problems related to changes in the socio-economic environment
caused by the transition to a market economy. This has given them not only
insight into the needs of "end users", but a keen understanding of the processes
required to mobilize broad-based support for change.
The mission of MODEL is to employ its practical and proven methods and techniques to support and assist a wide-array of social partners (local and regional governments, public institutions, NGOs, Regional Development Agencies, and private companies) to respond to the needs of displaced workers and effected communities through job creation, enterprise restructuring and community development.
